Santa Vision
SantaVision is social toy for the iPhone 3Gs, available in the iTunes App Store now.
Use SantaVision to create, share and view interactive augmented reality Christmas scenes anywhere in the world! Add virtual decorations and messages to your house, your office or anywhere else in the world that needs a little extra holiday cheer. Look at your friends and family and see them immersed in an augmented Christmas display.
Create a scene by placing, resizing and rotating animated stickers and text around you in the world. Add sound effects to spice up your scene. Hide stickers until the viewer taps on them. Share your SantaVision scenes with friends and family. Keep your scenes private, or make them available on the map to anyone else with the SantaVision application.
SantaVision scenes are created, edited and viewed on top of live video from your iPhone camera.

Current Limitations:
Because of the limited accuracy of the GPS in the iPhone 3Gs, SantaVision scenes are best viewed when standing at the same position from which they were created.
How to Get Started with SantaVision
The point of SantaVision is to put up virtual decorations on the world and people around you. Your IPhone will act like a virtual window to the world that lets you and others see your designs.
Get started by making your own design. Simply click on “Create New Display.” You will see live video on the screen. Click on the screen and you will see a list of stickers that you can stick to the world. After you select a sticker you will now see it pinned up on the world (move the phone around to see how the sticker stays in place). If you want to change how this sticker looks or behaves just touch it again. It will become highlighted; now you can move and resize it with your fingers. Click on “edit” while a sticker is highlighted to link a sound effect to it (the sound will play when your viewers touch the sticker) or set other properties about how it displays. Create a text sticker by clicking the “txt” button. It can be easier to get your stickers placed just right if you click the “hold” button. That will freeze the scene so that you can make precise adjustments on your stickers. Add as many stickers as you want to the world.
To show your design to friends, or to test how it will look to others when you share it, simply touch the “view” button. While you are viewing you can also take a picture of your scene to share. At any time you can click on the “save” button to save and/or share your display. When you save you can decide to share your decorations with someone over email or you can make it publicly viewable to the world.
If you want to look at other people’s designs just click on the “Locate Nearby Displays” button on the main screen. You will see a map of your current position with pins showing the location of nearby SantaVision displays. Just touch on a pin to load that display. If you want to truly appreciate the display make sure you stand in the same location as the pin in the map. However, if you just want to check out designs you can load them no matter your location. Remember that when you first load a display you might not see anything if you aren’t looking in the right direction, if you don’t see decorations try spinning around.
